DRAWING WORKSHOPS

Drawing skills are the basis for all 2d arts. Explore various media--pencil, pen and ink, and charcoal--as you learn how
 to represent 3d qualities such as perspective and depth on a flat surface. An excellent foundation course for beginners.

PAINTING WORKSHOPS

Learn the basics of composition and mixing colours as you complete projects in still life, portraiture and landscapes. Classes offered in:

PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS

Students will learn how composition and knowledge of f-stops and
shutter speeds can create memorable photos. Advanced workshops will use software to digitally alter photos to enhance expressiveness. A digital camera is the fastest way to learn photography so every student must bring their own digital camera. Perfect for budding shutterbugs.

INTERIOR DESIGN WORKSHOPS

This class will cover some of the basic concepts of design such as space planning, color theory and lighting design. Great for teens and adults thinking of pursuing a career in design and or just wanting to redesign their own interior space. Taught by Stella Johnson BID, an a professional interior designer.

MASK MAKING WORKSHOPS

This workshop is a hands-on, messy, and fun introduction to creating 3d objects. Masks have historically been used for ceremonies and in theatre and celebrations for milleniam. Masks are made from papier- mache and no chisels or other sharp tools are used.

FURNITURE DECORATION WORKSHOPS

Transform an old chair, stool or vase into a funky, piece of functional art. In this workshop all one needs is a little paint, some odds and ends and just a bit of imagination to bring new life to a discarded object. Reuse, recycle and re-design!

COMMUNITY OUTREACH WORKSHOPS

Art workshops have been offered to:
 
members of the Fraser Valley Brain Injury, Artworks 1 and Artworks 2 and Reconnection and the Stroke Recovery Association of B.C.- Abbotsford Chapter. 
 
Youth Art - summer 2007 will be offered.
 
Art in the Park in the summer of 2004 was a huge hit: classes for children were taught outdoors in Mill Lake Park.
